Defibrillator

A mammoth fundraising effort during 2016 raised sufficient funds to adopt the disused village telephone box, purchase and install a defibrillator for the village.

The telephone box was duly refurbished and painted in its original pillar box red and gold, with paint and signage supplied by Community Heartbeat Trust sponsors. With the kiosk now pristine the defibrillator unit was installed and wired up.

Finally 23 villagers attended a training session provided by the Community Heartbeat Trust and were introduced to DRS ABCD - the key steps in dealing with a patient who has collapsed.

The community Association continues to maintain the defibrillator, ensuring that it is fully ready in case of emergency.
